- YAY! Clap Clap -

Ok, so my lack of updates has upset some family members...I will try harder. I feel so bad bc since I started the blog, I stopped writing in Bailey's baby book - I just can't find the time to do both! I'm going to start that again tomorrow (hopefully) so she can have some handwritten memories of her baby years.

Bailey has started clapping, and it's just too cute. She doesn't make a sound yet, she just puts her palms together. I say YAY and clap at her when she does something good, so she started copying me. This morning she even made a sound like YAY and clapped on her own. It's amazing how much she is developing since she hit the 9 month mark. She moves around really good still, and gets into everything she comes across. It's funny too, I walk around the room with her in my arms, and she reaches out to touch everything she passes by. I will walk her around the house and let her grab at everything so she can feel it all. She's so curious.

I made our bedroom a safe zone for her to play in (sort of) but she still manages to find the items that can do some damage. She flips the door stoppers on every wall so they make the DOIIIIINNNGGG noise over and over and over. Then she crawls to the curtains and pulls on them pretty hard. I tell her NO and she looks at me (she knows what it means, but hardly obeys it) bc she usually does this when I am pumping and cannot jump right up to get her. Sneaky little monster! That's why our room is a safe zone - my pump is in there, and it's carpeted. This is her playing in the morning as I pump, and one in the afternoon.

Today I laid her on the rug in her room to change her diaper, and she squirmed to her hands and knees and started crawling around naked. I just let her go to see what she would do. She sat up, then zoomed right out of her bedroom door and down the tile towards the back door. I of course took pictures all along the way :D

So cute - she was happy to be naked and crawling on that travertine!

This little girl is eating so well too. I took video on my phone of her trying to feed herself bc my camcorder battery died on me - too many videos I guess.

She was doing a really good job too - I give her a spoon and I keep a spoon. Sometimes she likes to dip her spoon in the bowl, and sometimes she's content to just play with it. In this video she was eating pear flavored baby yogurt, and diced pears added for texture. The past few meals have been: oatmeal for breakfast with some sort of fruit or plain - the DHA added baby oatmeal, beef stew for dinner/lunch, peas/corn with blue berries/pears mixed for dinner tonight. It's really random sometimes, but I just try to get all of her servings in each day. One day she put her hands in the oatmeal and rubbed her eyes and her head - I had to take a rag and wash her hair and face.

All in all, she's a joy to be around every day - I love this little girl to bits! It's amazing how fast she's growing up and learning things. She loves to read books with me. We are up to 3-4 books per night and sometimes about 2 longer books during the day. We started with Goodnight Moon, then added Brown Bear Brown Bear - now we also usually read Moo Baa LaLaLa or Dear Zoo which is a 'lift the flap' book that she loves. I say 'Bailey turn the page' and she does. She's been doing that for about 2 months. She even gets to where she knows the next line, and turns the page when she's supposed to without me telling her to. She's so smart!

I have busted her a few times trying to pull herself up on the bars of her crib - she looks at me when I come in with a 'uh oh' face and I just start laughing. The doc said she needs to be pulling up, so I don't care - I encourage her to do so. We lowered the bed to the lowest setting, so she can pull up all she wants so she can get practice - she starts everything in her crib.

See what happens when I don't post every day? This is a long update, but action packed :D
