So little Bailey is moving along faster and faster every day! After our condo guests left, we moved the coffee table from the middle of the room to the far end so that she can have the entire rug to move around on. We also scattered her toys so that she was motivated to go from corner to corner, and she definitely does get around - plus some. She tries to scoot around on the travertine floor which makes me nervous because she threw herself back while in a sitting position and banged her poor little head on the floor ): she recovered like a champ though. She has been doing so much since we got to Florida - I think it's the beautiful sunshine and water that gets her moving!
She loves to steal Cinnamon's ball all of the time, but then again - Cinnamon rolls it over to her to try to get her to throw it. It's as if Bailey knows, and she takes it and teases Cinnamon with it. Domino tries to give her kisses all over, especially on her feet...I'm constantly pushing him away from her.
She's eating a decent variety of solids now as well. She snacks on little cinnamon flavored puffs, yogurt melts, cheese poofs, and meat sticks (nasty, but doc suggested I get them). For breakfast she has eaten oatmeal either plain or mixed with apples, blueberries, and pears. She has nibbled on parts of pancake here in Florida, as well as cut up bananas. She's a connoisseur of food already!
Bailey is getting very good at drinking from her sippy cup - I started giving it to her while in her highchair around 6 months old. It's taken her a bit of time, but she's getting really good at drinking from it. She drinks from a regular mini cup as well, but I haven't allowed her to try to hold that one by herself just yet...she likes to pour contents out of items with no lid. She's such a fast learner though - it's so great to see her grow and change daily.
So that's the long update for now, that's what happens when I forget to post for days. We are loving our time in Destin, as usual - I'm going to take B bear swimming tomorrow maybe when she wakes up before her first nap when the sun is not shining as bright, but the water is nice and warm.
Oh, I almost forgot...today I let her play with her spoon while eating lunch, but she starting moving it all around and almost poked herself in the eyeball several times with the back part of the spoon. I took it away from her and she screamed and cried - that was the first time she has seriously objected to me removing a toy. I forgot to have a 'replacement' toy on hand right away so I went to the living room floor to grab her links, and when I bent down to pick them up - she stopped crying all together. I was out of sight, so there was no need to put on a show! When I got back up, waterworks started up again. What a silly girl. She stopped crying and was happy with the replacement links so all was well. :D
