I thoroughly enjoy being a stay at home mother, in fact, I thank God daily - literally thank Him in prayer - for allowing me to be a constant in Bailey's daily life. I commend those that are not able to stay at home, because not only do they have to deal with work situations all day, but they then have to come and deal with their kid situations that arise! Man, I cannot even keep my house clean when I'm here all day - I do not know how they do it.
This is on my mind because last night Bailey went to sleep at 8pm, then around 11 she started making noises on the monitor and crying a little bit. I waited to see if she was going to put herself back to sleep, but she kept on - so I went to check on her. My poor little baby was drenched in spit-up! Her hair was soaked, her crib was wet, pj's soaked...and she was shaking like she was cold. I had to give her another bath in order to get everything off of her. She was wild-eyed and shaking the whole time, so I didn't know if something was wrong or not - no temperature, so I assumed she was just stunned at what I was doing to her during her sleepy time! I put bumpers at the end of our bed, and laid her with us just in case she had another episode. Well, the child WOULD NOT GO BACK TO SLEEP after that! She moved all around, pushing off of me, then cuddling close *repeat multiple times. She woke up around 6:30 this morning, played for a bit, took a bottle, then passed out at 7:45 and is still sleeping at 9. Needless to say - I am tired. Very tired. So again, I totally commend those working mothers that have to deal with issues like these, then get right up in the morning and start their day. I am spoiled with my schedule, I know that. I have a phenomenal husband that works very hard so that I can stay with Bailey all day - God has blessed me beyond belief!
Now I am in the process of re-creating her nap schedule. I was going to start today, but considering the circumstances of last night - I will hold off until tomorrow. You should see me planning her schedule out - notebook with feeding times, and possible nap routines...researching her previous nap schedules and charting them out according to her natural patterns. I'm a researcher - it's who I am! I cannot help it. Southwestern has trained me well. That's why I'm meticulous when it comes to implementing her schedule with consistency...I'm only putting my hard researched plan into action - repetition is key! :) I'm a dork, yes...so I've been told. It works though - I have one continuously happy baby and I think it's because she has a rigid routine and set nap times. This also makes life easier on me knowing when she sleeps/eats etc. so I can attempt to plan my days. I said attempt.
